The Pronoun On

-The pronoun ‘On’ can mean several things depending on context.

-It is mostly used as ‘we’ in informal situations.

-It is also, by far, way more used than ‘nous’

-It is 3rd person singular and uses 3rd person singular conjugations

On écoute de la musique. We are listening to music. (One listens to music)

On frappe à la porte. There is a knocking on the door.(One knocks on the door)

On m’a dit qu’elle était ici. I was told that she was here. (One told me that she was here)

On m’a volé l’argent. My money was stolen. (One stole from me the money)
